About Me

I have a Bachelor of Industrial Design and I am currently completing a Graduate Certificate in Interaction Design and Electronic Arts. In doing so, I am looking to combine my product design background with my web design and development skills and find employment in the design and development of digital and interactive technologies. I have a particular interest in this exciting industry, I am always achieving highly in it, and I am always looking for further ways to learn more and expand on my skill set and knowledge.

My Skills

I am competent in using a variety of operating systems including macOS, iOS, Windows and Android. I am very proficient in using the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office/Apple iWork suites. I have plenty of experience with prototyping tools, from Balsamiq Mockups through to Sketch and InVision. I can use both development tools (CMS, FTP, Git, Xcode, etc.) and design tools (including 3D modelling). I can code in several different languages, although I am most fluent in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I am familiar with many different collaborative and agile tools including Slack, Flock, Skype and Trello.

My Experience

Self-Employed Web Designer/Developer | November 2016 – Current

I have built a few small business websites to further develop my skills since finishing my bachelor’s degree.

Website and Mobile App Designer/Developer at Helpwise Website Development | January 2013 – Current

I created the company’s first mobile application in 2014 (West End Mazda iPhone/Android application). I have since created mobile applications for Surf Life Saving Sydney, UNSW and Marine Rescue NSW. My other work has involved content management, mockups, tutorials, web applications and websites.

Retail Team Member at Supercheap Auto | October 2012 – Current

I have been practicing general retail tasks along with services such as vehicle fitments and paint mixing. I was awarded as Super Retail Group’s Area Team Member of the Month in February 2013. I have been recognised for my willingness to learn, help others, and go the extra mile. I have also represented the company at events, and helped to train and mentor newer team members.

Technical Officer at Western Sydney University | April 2017 – June 2017

I was asked to fill in for the technical coordinator of Industrial Design the day after I graduated. I ran and supervised workshop classes and events, and I also provided tours of the university’s facilities. I assisted students, staff and companies with their projects, managing a large number of projects at once. I managed the university’s equipment/materials, and even demonstrated them at a corporate conference.

Assistant Technical Officer at Western Sydney University | October 2016

I individually ran weekly Makerspace workshops at Western Sydney University’s Parramatta campus. I assisted students, staff and members of the public with the completion of their projects.

Casual Academic at Western Sydney University | September 2016

I ran classes on the 3D printing and laser cutting machines, inducting fellow students and academics.

Bachelor of Industrial Design (Honours) at Western Sydney University | 2013 – 2016

I achieved 9 High Distinctions and 13 Distinctions in the 27 subjects that I studied. I was listed on the School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics Dean’s Merit List in 2013 and 2015. I became a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society in 2014. I sub-majored in Design Management and Industrial Graphics, my electives focused on Interactive Design.

Higher School Certificate at Wyndham College | 2011 – 2012

I was awarded as the Caltex Best All Rounder – the most prestigious award available at graduation. I was first in course in Industrial Technology (Graphics Industries) in both 2011 and 2012. I was first in course in Information Processes and Technology in both 2011 and 2012. I was first in course in Software Design and Development in both 2011 and 2012.
